TOGETHER 4 WATER! Partner testimonial: Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines

August 1, 2022

Our partner Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines has been by our side in the fight against COVID 19. Their help has been invaluable in setting up hand-washing stations in our intervention areas and in providing water to slum dwellers during the pandemic.

Many thanks to you!

“When the pandemic started in March 2020, we decided at Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. (CCFPI) to re-focus our efforts and provide access to safe water for sanitation and basic needs of our vulnerable and underserved peri-urban communities.  With Water & Life as our partner, we were able to provide free water services to more than 2,200 families who can hardly go out of their homes to earn a living during the 2-month lockdown in Cavite, install new household water connections to 600 families in Cavite and Cebu helping them avoid getting infected by covid19 every time they fetch water from communal faucets, and finally, install 73 handwashing stations in 19 interventions in Cavite, Cebu, and Mandaue.

Eau et Vie helped us develop modest handwashing stations that is contactless, with controlled water volume, soap dispensed by a foot pedal, and with IEC and social distancing signages for residents and passersby to practice barrier gestures to prevent the spread of the disease.  We are grateful to be partners with W&L, reaching over 21,000 hand washers per day.”

“Over the time that we had this pandemic, CCFPI and W&L had done an outstanding effort in keeping the spread of the virus from getting worst especially to our less privileged neighboring communities through putting up a quite number of handwashing units.  It is a kind gesture of humanitarian help without expecting any return but just with one objective: keep everyone healthy through practicing constant washing of hands.  To the communities we’ve been, installing the units, was much welcomed by the people.  Not only that the units can provide an easy access to keep their hands clean but can set as a reminder that proper hygiene will lead to a healthy life.”
