CHATTOGRAM

5 million inhabitants live in Chattogram (formerly known as Chittagong), 2nd city and 1st port of Bangladesh. Massive urban migration trends contributed to an exponential urban growth and the explosion of the number of slums in the city, where 1.5 million of poor people live – often illiterate and without property rights. In Chattogram, only 50% of the population is served by piped water supply systems, mostly in residential areas.

The first area of intervention of Eau et Vie in Chattogram is 9 Number Bridge, whose network was inaugurated in 2017.

A second water network was opened in 2022 in the CNB Colony neighbourhood.
