Mr. Md. Abul Bashar is a seasoned development and management professional with over 26 years of experience in various private, autonomous government, and development sector, both in national and international arena. His educational background includes Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration and Master of Development Studies, along with a degree on civil engineering. Mr. Bashar is a certified consultant of change management, organizational development, housing microfinance, total quality management (TQM) and total productive management (TPM). He is also a certified lead auditor of ISO 9001 as well as a certified KPI Specialist. He is a recognized motivational & team-building trainer/coach/mentor.
Before joining Eau et Vie as Country Director Mr. Bashar held the positions of Program Director, Senior Program Director and Acting Country Director at Community Partners International (CPI). Prior to CPI, he was the Head of Humanitarian Programs at cbm Global and served as the Consortium Lead (consortium consisting of Save the Children, CARE, Oxfam, Plan International, World Vision and Humanity & Inclusion) at Save the Children. Mr. Bashar also worked as the Lead Consultant at Disaster Management Watch and Head of Programs at Habitat for Humanity International, where he also served as Acting Country Director for a while.
Throughout his long career, Mr. Bashar worked in several Asia-Pacific countries as an expatriate and have gained extensive experience in complex international development and humanitarian crisis management programs, managing recognized institutional donors’ funds. His core sectoral expertise included WaSH, housing & human settlement, urban development, health, protection, education, livelihoods, clean energy, inclusion, market development, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and response (DR3) and research programs with a proven track record of working in non-profit organizations.
